Join us for a study tour to Japan to explore Tokyo and Osaka.

For over six decades Japan has been associated with innovation, technology and futuristic thinking.

Tokyo, home to the world’s largest metropolitan population, is undergoing an urban renaissance as it prepares to host the 2020 Olympic Games driven by new developments in urban renewal, transportation, construction, and an ambitious sustainability agenda.

As the host city for the 2025 World Expo, Osaka is experiencing a new wave of developments combining a focus on green space with high end technology.  New urban projects which are emerging in Osaka reflect the cities position as Japan’s historical commercial hub.

With Australia continually being challenged with increasing density in our cities, the tyranny of distances not only between cities but within them, and ever increasing stresses on our environment, this tour will provide delegates with insights into resilient building, innovative use of technology, vertical precinct level living and technological advances in transport and sustainability to help manage growth.

Delegates will have the chance to go behind-the-scenes and meet with the city-shapers whose new ideas have the potential to transform not only Japan but the world.
